Netizens Encourage Tipping Our Abang PosLaju Following Pos Malaysia’s No Bonus Kerfuffle
For the past few days, Pos Malaysia Berhad landed itself in hot water after the company announced that they would not be giving out their annual bonus to its staff this year .
The news triggered Malaysians who watched our mailmen working so hard, especially throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.
Netizens who sympathised with the plight of our mailmen then suggested that we start tipping our Abang Posmen or PosLaju no matter how small or big the amount is, especially with the upcoming festive season.
'Kita jaga kita'
Many echoed the same sentiments and also shared their deed on social media.Maybe boleh buat kempen customer beri extra tips dekat abang poslaju macam runner foodpanda selalu dapat tu. at least dapat bantu diorang sikit#my2cent— [email protected] (@elainish07) May 18, 2020
dawg this is so sad :/ thinking of starting to tip abang poslajus esp since it’s almost raya... kalau letak duit dalam angpao ok kot kan :/// i know it should be on the company & not us to provide for their employees but while we mass cyberbully poslaju i’ll just do this— ☁️ (@awanbby) May 17, 2020
This is why you should tip abang poslaju, J&T, ShopeeExpress, Ninja Van or any post man. https://t.co/C2xY12Sz7n— Evreu (@theevreu) May 19, 2020

Sorang RM5 pon dah okay dah, kita kesian kan? kena tolong lah posmen dah tolong kita https://t.co/5U8z02ERKI— ???????? (@fadzlytwt) May 19, 2020
Tip your abang posmen okay! Kesian abang posmen??? #KitaJagaKita https://t.co/jHYbbgHs3y— miss lyssa (@__notyourlyssa) May 19, 2020
Aku ada terfikir yg if Pos Malaysia tak bagi diorang bonus, why not kita yg bagi mereka bonus (tips). Kau bayang sehari abg posmen hantar 50-100 parcel, if 1 parcel blh bg Rm1, maybe blh dpt Rm50-Rm100 sehari, sementara berbaki 4-5 hari utk bekerja dapatlah bonus raya utk mereka. https://t.co/PC9S1JZK5D— ???? Kalau tgk kpd gaji posmen mmg sedih , after this maybe kita kena start amalkan bg tips RM1/2 pun takpe . Atleast 50 rumah dia hantar half dari 50 tu 25 buah katakan bg tips. Sehari paling kurang RM25x25hari kerja =RM625 duit tambahan kan . Company sengkek kedekut nk bagi bonus ?— ENNA ♡ (@ennaxzulkarnain) May 18, 2020
The random act of kindness was perhaps inspired by a similar movement when the MCO first started where netizens were tipping their food delivery riders.Sending my prayers and my love to all abang posmen out there. Pos Malaysia have recently addressed the no bonus issue, but netizens still aren’t pleased and have decided to extend a helping hand instead.

A small act of kindness may go a long way, and who knows, it’ll make their day too!
