All aboard, fans because The One Piece ‘The Great Era of Piracy’ Asia Tour Exhibition will be docking at Resorts World Genting, Malaysia. Fresh off their Hong Kong stop, the tour will make its first visit to Southeast Asia from 23 March to 8 May. It claims to be the largest experiential exhibition in SEA, which we don’t know what it means, but we guess that it means it’s the largest official anime exhibition of its kind.
The brainchild of Eiichiro Oda, the Japanese manga series One Piece follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a boy whose body gained the properties of rubber after eating the Devil Fruit. Together with his Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy explores the Grand Line in search of the ultimate treasure ‘One Piece’ to be crowned the next King of the Pirates. It has become one of the highest grossing media franchises of all time and is the bestselling manga series in history.
With over 1000 episodes so far, the ongoing anime of One Piece which has been running since 1999 also recently announced that it will take a short break until 19 March. But there’s now something to look forward to from the series.
Fans will get to experience the epic journey of their beloved Straw Hat Crew in a 25,000 square feet exhibition area with 21 thematic and iconic zones and life-sized sculptures which offer fans of all ages an opportunity to be part of an immersive adventure.
Fans will also be able to play interactive AR games with enhanced zone features. As they collect points throughout the game, they will also have the chance to walk away with exciting prizes.
Fans can then take a walk at the Land of Wano at the end of the exhibition area. Wano Country was where the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance gathered and prepare for the battle against the Beasts Pirates. There will also be the chance to play mini carnival games and win exclusive rewards.
This exhibition will also feature a range of limited edition One Piece merchandise items that are only available for purchase at the venue for a limited time that will be the perfect keepsake.
