Penang’s Backdoor Bodega Named in 100 Best Bars List by the Asia Best 50 Bars

If you are travelling to Penang anytime soon, you must drop by Backdoor Bodega.

This is because the bar has become the first bar from the state to be named in the 51-100 list by the Asia Best 50 Bars.

It was listed at number 97 as a new entry, alongside KL’s Three X Co at number 70 and Coley at number 100.

According to a report in The Star, the bar in George Town has a unique concept.

The bar calls itself an 'overpriced pin shop' and patrons purchase lapel pins at the outlet, that come with a complimentary cocktail.

The report said the list was created from the overall Asia’s 50 Best Bars voting process where this year’s 51-100 list includes bars from 24 different cities across Asia.

The Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022 awards function will take place on April 28 in Bangkok at 8.30pm (Malaysia time) and the livestream of the event can be viewed via The World’s 50 Best Bars Facebook and 50 Best Bars TV YouTube Channel.
