Love testing out make up?

Now you can do so virtually via Pinterest with the launch of a new augmented reality (AR) feature.

Yes, Pinterest now has a 'Try On' option, a mobile app feature that will allow users to try out different lipsticks from a range of brands, including Estée Lauder, bareMinerals, Sephora, NYX Professional Makeup, Lancôme, Urban Decay and more.

Excited to try it out? Hang on a minute. The feature is only available in the United States for now, but Pinterest hopes to expand it for worldwide use in the future.

Users can also purchase products on the platform

According to AFP-Relaxnews, apart from makeup, the function that is powered by the Pinterest Lens tool also allows users to explore different looks with similar colours, get hair, fashion and beauty inspiration and even purchase products in just a few clicks.

"As we focus on building inclusive products, we've integrated Try On with our skin tone range feature, so Pinners can see similar lip shades on skin tones that match their own.

"And with Try On, you won't find skin smoothing or image altering effects that make you look less like you (as you might see on some other AR technologies)," said Pinterest in its website.
