Pizza Hut has partnered with the only soft drink that has a church, Coca-Cola, to make two new products: Hawaiian Cola Pizza and Krispy Cola WingStreet. The combination took over four months of development where multiple recipes and combinations were tested before finding the perfect match.

It's amazing to imagine a bunch of chefs and food scientist hunched over pizza, preparing the right consistency of Coca-Cola that would perfectly go with pizza.

The Hawaiian Cola Pizza is a fusion of Pizza Hut's Hawaiian Chicken Pizza and a specially concocted sauce made with the signature Cola syrup. The Krispy Cola WingStreet features chicken wings coated in cola-based glaze.

How does the Hawaiian Cola Pizza taste?

We were fortunate enough to sample it before it went on sale today and we can say that, yes, it is in fact, pizza dressed in cola. The Hawaiian pizza is probably the most sensible place to use the Cola syrup as it already has the sweetness of the pineapples, so the cola flavour doesn't stick out.

That said, the flavour is quite prominent and stays in your mouth long after you've finished your pizza. As a novelty, the pizza is indeed something that's quite interesting.

We would however, have liked the syrup to be combined with more daring flavours, for example, a BBQ based pizza to give it a sweet and smoky profile or combine it with something spicy. We have a bottle of coke with most of our foods in Malaysia anyway so we think it can go far.

Selling nationwide across all 453 Pizza Hut stores, the Pizza Hut X Coca-Cola range can be enjoyed as part of the Pizza Hut MyBox combo, Huts Meal combo or WingStreet Combo with an additional RM3.90 for each set. This promotion is available for dine-in, takeaway and delivery which can be ordered through Pizza Hut Apps, www.pizzahut.com.my or via popular food aggregator platforms.

The pizza is only available from 1 August to 15 September. So try it out if you're adventurous.
