PM Hints at Cheaper F1 Tickets for Sepang Race, But Says Front-Row Seats Won't Be Included

Take note, Malaysian Formula 1 (F1) fans!

You may soon be able to get cheaper tickets for one of the most anticipated races of the year when Sepang hosts the Bahrain Grand Prix this October.

According to a report by NST, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim hinted that more affordable tickets for the race may be available.

He said members of the public had approached him to ask about more affordable ticket options for the race. He added that, at the moment, the cheapest ticket to the event costs about RM200.

The Prime Minister's answer was short: Insyaallah (God willing). However, he jokingly added that the public should keep their expectations in check.

"People are asking, 'PMX, will there be Madani F1 tickets? The cheapest tickets cost RM200. Please give us Madani-priced tickets."

"Insyaallah... but you won't be seated in the front-row seats. You'll have to sit a little further away," he shared.

Last Sunday (26 July), Formula 1 and governing body FIA announced that Sepang will host the Bahrain Grand Prix as a replacement race.

The event was originally scheduled to take place in Bahrain last April. However, due to the conflict in Iran, the race, along with the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, was postponed.

The upcoming event in October marks Formula 1's return to Sepang, which last hosted a championship race in 2017.

You can now be part of the race as a volunteer

Yes, you read that right!

Sepang International Circuit (SIC) is currently looking for volunteers to help run the race in October.

And no, you won't be doing it for free. Volunteers will be paid RM60 per day and provided with meals throughout the race weekend.
