The COVID-19 pandemic has, no doubt, been very hard on some of us.

Not only are Malaysians affected, even small-medium businesses around the country have been forced to close down.

Sadly, we can add another one to the list.

A sad farewell

A popular food court located in Suria KLCC has announced that they will be ceasing operations after 22 years in service.

The RASA Food Arena, which is located on the fourth floor of the shopping center, will be closed permanently beginning Wednesday (1 September).

The placard announcing the closure shared by Facebook user Rizal Hakimm Punyer on Tuesday (31 August) has gone viral on social media:

"It is with great sadness that we announce the permanent closure of RASA Food Arena, Suria KLCC, from 1st September 2021.

"Thank you for your patronage over the wonderful 22 years. It has been our ultimate pleasure to serve you," the notice reads.

The RASA Food Arena was one of the original tenants of Suria KLCC when the mall opened in May 1998.

The 16,000 sq ft food court underwent extensive renovations back in 2007, and its fresh and cheerful new look won the hearts of patrons.

Bye bye, yummy food. The food court is extremely popular with tourists and office workers who are on the hunt for affordable yet yummy eats.

The sudden closure announcement caught many by surprise, with many expressing their sadness:

It's always not easy to say goodbye to yummy food. Thank you for always filling up our tummies, RASA Food Arena.

You'll definitely be missed.
