If you own an Apple watch, do note that one day, it could save your life.

That was exactly what happened to a man from Washington, who was saved by the alerts on his Apple Watch after he fell off his bike in the woods.

He's alive thanks to his Apple Watch.
News portal Unilad reported that Bob Burdett was out mountain biking when he fell, flipped his bike and knocked his head on the ground so hard that he went unconscious.

Luckily for Bob, he was wearing an Apple Watch, which sent a text to his son saying it had ‘detected a hard fall’. On top of that, it also notified emergency services and shared his location with them.

Wow!

His son Gabe was so impressed with the watch’s amazing features that he has urged people to make use of the ‘hard fall' feature on it.

“If you own an Apple watch, set up your hard fall detection – it’s not just for when you fall off a roof or a ladder.

“Had he fallen somewhere on the high drive trails or another remote area, the location would have clued EMS in on where to find him. Amazing technology and so glad he had it,” he wrote on Facebook.

The text that Gabe got.
The Apple Watch Series 4 and onwards taps you on the wrist and displays an alert if it detects a ‘Hard Fall’. It also sounds an alarm, and the user will be given a choice to contact emergency services or tap ‘I’m OK’.

If you have not moved for around a minute, it begins a 30-second countdown while tapping you on the wrist and sounding an alert which gradually gets louder so that you or someone else nearby can hear it.

It will call emergency services and contact your emergency contacts if there’s still no movement.

What a time to be alive, right?
