Say Hello to Cetel: Petronas Appoints Adorable Sleeping Cat As Setel’s Ambassador
Petronas’ fuel payment app, Setel, now has a furry ambassador in the form of a sleepy cat. They’re not kitten around about it; they announced the news officially through their social media channels that an adorable stray kitty has been selected for the job.
X user @akif_twitch’s tweet went viral when he shared a precious picture of a stray cat at a Petronas petrol station. He hilariously wrote, “Hi @setel, please take action against your worker who is snoring at work. This goes against work ethics.”

He also shared two pictures of the cat napping at the same spot which he had taken the previous year.
Another X user @iwaaaaannn also shared a photo of the kitty, saying that it supervised work at night, that is why it was tired in the daytime.

Setel was quick to take notice of the viral post. They reposted it on their X account with the caption, “If we reach 7,500 followers, Setel will take this ’employee’ as our app ambassador.”
Within a day, they reached their target and tweeted, “Introducing Setel’s Official Ambassador from Alor Setar, Kedah.” They also asked for suggestions to celebrate their new ambassador.

Netizens were then asked to vote for the cat’s official name with options including Setella, Shetelliza Natasha Maimon, Seteliza, and Cetel with 55.7% votes finally going to the latter. Setel also revealed that a collar was on the way for Cetel.

The account also jokingly revealed the ‘admin’ behind Setel’s account, which turned out to be another furry friend.

The user behind the original post expressed their appreciation to Setel for appreciating the cat, saying that they never expected that it would bring such a positive impact amongst netizens. He said that this was a way of appreciating cats as man’s partner in life together.
