Kuala Lumpur is indeed the city that never sleeps. Maybe not entirely the New York kind but a healthy mixture between all things business and leisure adventures. It’s no secret that the best place to experience the best of both worlds is at the heart of the city, and that’s where Sheraton Imperial stands proud.

Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel has been around since 1997, situated at KL’s sweet spot in between the most significant city attractions like KLCC and the humble small-town offerings from surrounding modern villages like Kampung Baru. Recently, the establishment went through major refurbishments and we had a chance to take a look.

A step into the hotel lobby gave us a sense of assurance and guarantee that we’ll be thoroughly pampered throughout our stay. On top of the thirst-quenching welcome drinks, the concierge attended to us with the warmest of greetings and hospitality. We were astounded by the uplifting environment that filled the high ceilings of the hotel, making us excited to reach our room as soon as possible.

We got the City View room that comes with a King Bed and access to the Club Lounge, overlooking the city skyline of Kuala Lumpur. As we threw ourselves on the bed, our bodies sank into the softness of the mattress and pillows. The room was also blessed with an ample amount of sunlight, absolutely ideal for your sun-kissed instastories.

As expected, the bathroom came with a medium-sized bathtub, a huge mirror, the essential toiletries and a shower with adjustable temperature. Do you know what that meant? Long and lingering hours in warm water while listening to my favorite chill out tunes.

After a satisfying amount of time in warm water, it was then time to hit the pool. Sheraton Imperial’s pool promises a calm and cool experience with an amazing view of the KL Tower.

The pool is only one of the many facilities in the building. Sheraton Imperial was also built with a fitness centre and a few notable restaurants including Celestial Court, Cholas by WTF (yes, that’s not a typo) and the soon-to-be-reopened Villa Danieli, known to once house the famous Chef Zubir.

Speaking of food, another highlight of our little visit was the afternoon tea session at Pavilions Lounge. For RM128 nett for two, we received a wide array of tea time treats including sandwiches, cakes, fruits and our favourite; the scones, which came with a variety of condiments.

On top of that, the session came with drinks of our choice. One of us ordered tea (he wasn’t much of a coffee person) and I had a hot latte. Personally, as a coffee connoisseur, their offerings were frankly decent and paired well with the desserts served together as part of the afternoon platter.

In the evening, we decided to pay their Sheraton Club Lounge a visit, since our room came with such access. The Lounge boasts not only a variety of food and beverages, but also a breathtaking sight of the city from the comfort of your seat. Cocktails at sunset, anyone?

So whether you are looking to close that next deal or take some well deserved time off, Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel is the perfect place for any occasion.
