Skechers SKX Aero Burst Review: Built for Runners, Loved by Everyone
I’ll be honest, I’m not a seasoned runner. I don’t have a training schedule, and I don’t clock my pace. But lately, I’ve been thinking it might be time to move a little more, and a good pair of running shoes felt like the right place to start. Enter the Skechers SKX Aero Burst in black and white, a shoe engineered for long-distance comfort and endurance, but also stylish enough to wear for everything else.
After a week of testing them out on short jogs, long walks, and everything in between, here’s what I thought of the Skechers SKX Aero Burst. Spoiler: they didn’t turn me into a marathoner, but they definitely made running (and walking) feel a lot more doable.
Look: sleek, sporty, and surprisingly versatile
Black and white is always a safe bet, but Skechers made it look sharp. The engineered mesh upper gives it a sporty edge without being too “gym bro,” and the overall silhouette is modern enough to pair with joggers, shorts, or even casual office wear.

It’s the kind of design that feels athletic without trying too hard with its clean lines, subtle branding, and just enough texture to keep things interesting. Whether you're out for a light jog, chasing a new record or competing in a running event, these shoes blend in effortlessly while still giving your outfit a bit of a lift.
Feel: like running on clouds
These shoes are ridiculously comfortable. The HYPER BURST ICE cushioning feels like memory foam with a bounce—soft but responsive, which makes a big difference when you're pounding pavement. Whether I was doing short jogs around the park or picking up the pace on a longer stretch, the impact absorption was noticeable. My feet felt fresh even after a few kilometres, which is saying something for someone who usually starts regretting their life choices halfway through a run.
Meanwhile, the Arch Fit support and HYPERARC system sound fancy, but all I know is my feet felt supported and smooth with every step. No soreness, no weird pressure points, and no awkward break-in period. The transition from heel to toe felt natural, and there was just enough structure to keep my stride feeling stable without being stiff. For a casual runner like me, that balance between softness and support is exactly what I need to keep going without constantly checking how much longer I have left.

The SKX Aero Burst also comes with a Goodyear Performance Outsole, which might sound like something you'd find on a tyre, and honestly, that’s kind of the point. It’s designed for durability and traction, and it shows. Whether I was jogging on wet pavement after a sudden downpour or navigating uneven park paths, the outsole held up impressively. It’s one less thing to worry about when you’re just trying to keep your pace steady.
Fit: snug where it counts, roomy where it matters
I have slightly wide feet, so I’m always nervous about new sneakers feeling too tight. But the Aero Burst fits like a glove, secure around the heel and midfoot, with enough room in the toe box to wiggle freely. The mesh upper adds a bit of stretch, which helps if your feet tend to swell after a long day. I didn’t need to break them in either they felt good straight out of the box.

The engineered mesh upper is where the Aero Burst really starts to shine. It’s lightweight, breathable, and offers just the right amount of give enough flexibility to move naturally with your foot, but with enough structure to keep things feeling stable and secure.
Unlike some max-cushioned shoes that can feel stuffy or overbuilt, this one manages airflow impressively well. Even during longer runs in our humid weather, my feet stayed cool and comfortable.
Our verdict
The Skechers SKX Aero Burst might be built for serious mileage, but it’s surprisingly welcoming for casual runners or anyone just starting to ease into a more active routine. It’s got the comfort, support, and performance features you'd expect from a high-end running shoe, without feeling overly technical or intimidating.
From the breathable mesh upper to the responsive cushioning and grippy Goodyear outsole, everything works together to make running feel smoother and more enjoyable. And although it didn’t turn me into a marathoner overnight, it did make me look forward to lacing up and heading out, which is already a win in my book.
The Skechers SKX Aero Burst which retails for RM759 is now available at selected Skechers concept stores, including The Exchange TRX, 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Suria KLCC, Pavilion KL, Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Pavilion Damansara Heights, and Sunway Pyramid, as well as online.
