In the age of the internet, we have probably heard of people meeting their ‘soul mates’ online.

Sadly, this was not the case for an Indonesian teenager.

No happy ending

The girl, thinking that she's met her soul mate, decided to sell of her father's motorcycle to fund her 'romantic' trip only for the boy to reject her.

Ouch!

Things someone would do for love.According to a report by Indonesia's Tribun News, the teenager got to know a boy through an online game called 'Free Fire'.

She quickly got attracted to him and wanted badly to meet him face to face.

However, the boy reportedly stays in Jakarta, and she was located in Jambi, which requires her to take a one-and-a-half hour flight to meet him.

Without thinking twice, the teen sold her father’s motorcycle for 20 million rupiahs (RM5,785) in exchange for plane tickets to Jakarta.

Unfortunately for her, the boy didn’t appreciate her efforts. In fact, he reportedly didn’t want to meet her at all!

A video of the girl looking lost and crying at the airport made the rounds on the internet.

An airport salesperson was seen comforting her, and when asked what she was doing at the airport alone, the teenager broke down and related her story.

The girl was still adamant in wanting to fly to Jakarta, but thankfully, her family managed to stop her after they saw her photos on the internet.

Poor girl! Hopefully she'll find a guy who will treat her right.
