Rather than worrying about following the right route on Google Maps or running out of petrol on the highway, take in the idyllic scenery of rolling hills and paddy fields on the way from Padang Besar to Hatyai by taking the train instead!

Starting 15 July 2022, you can now easily pay a visit to our neighbours in the North using our local train services. KTM Berhad has announced that their train services will officially resume from Padang Besar to Hatyai and vice versa. We can practically taste the tom yam!

For KL folks, hop on the ETS train from KL Sentral to Padang Besar. The trip takes around 5 and a half hours. Get off the train at the Thai immigration checkpoint with your passports. Then, take the SRT Thailand shuttle train from Padang Besar to Hatyai for a quick 10-minute journey.

You can also opt to take the bus, minivan, or taxi. The train also operates from other cities like Penang and Ipoh. Ticket prices vary according to timings and class options.

If you want to travel in style, go for their Business Class seats and enjoy access to facilities such as their Ruby Lounge that resemble airport waiting areas at three of their main stations and receive an amenity kit.
