There are only a few pet-friendly parks in KL and Klang Valley area. The most popular one at this point is Desa Park City; surrounded by lush greenery, a pond and well-structured pavements suitable for your furry friends.

The best thing after in-between walks with your adorable pets? A thirst-quenching drink in the middle of the trail. Thankfully the Waterfront features a number of cafes and eateries in that area; but frankly, one of them may entice you more as a pet parent.

V88 has been around for yonks and now with three outlets under their name; Jalan Sultan, Starhill and Desa Park City. Their Desa Park outlet allows pets to hang together with their owners, which means you don’t need to figure out where to place them just for a bite!

Two weeks ago, we gave V88 By The Park a test run and ordered a number of their dishes. This is what our spread looks like.

Firstly, we tried their mouthwatering-looking burgers with their iconic red (or pink?) buns. The burger has two versions; beef or chicken and comes with hearty portions of fried chips and tater tots.

The brioche buns were perfectly fluffy for our standards and expectedly, the beef patty melted seamlessly on our tongues even after a few bites. The presence of pickles sliced through our tastebud and gave it a refreshing twist (while also making it less jelak). Our other half preferred the chicken burger and we don’t blame her - the crispiness of the patty was to die for.

Next, is their popular nasi lemak dish, heavily spoken about even before we came around. Frankly, we’re not the type of people who would order nasi lemak at a cafe, but after seeing a plate of it arrive on the table beside us, we gave in to the temptation.

The sambal is a bit on the sweeter side so it favours me more than my colleague. The chicken was so tender that it reminded us of Nando’s limited espetada menu. But the highlight of the dish is that everything mixes well together which is frankly surprising considering the number of items served in the bowl.

As for drinks and dessert, we paired their signature Pandan Coconut Milk Latte with their tiramisu. There’s a lot to rave about the drink; a good balance of creaminess with a tinge of pandan sugar syrup. At the end of each sip, it felt like having three strong flavours wrestling with each other (in a positive manner, of course). The tiramisu, on the other hand, was great but nothing special. A good combo to have, still!

So if you’re looking to chill with your pet husky, corgi, labrador or even iguana, then V88 is the best place to be. Check out their IG page here for more info.
