Simply beautiful.

A total of 100 musicians with about 18 types instruments from the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) put together a rendition of Tanah Pusaka recently.

Arranged and orchestrated by Vivian Chua and conducted by Gerard Salonga, the performance which was posted on MPO's Facebook page aimed at motivating Malaysians who were on the road to recovery economically and emotionally during this trying period.

"The song was chosen because it is a classic song that everyone is familiar with. It is an apt choice for the frontliners and the people of our nation, to soldier on through this difficult time."

"This is our way of expressing our heartfelt "thank you" to the hardworking frontliners and the unsung heroes in this pandemic period, and on the whole, for our nation, our "Tanah Pusaka"," said MPO in a written reply to Rojak Daily.

The piece is part of the 'MPO At Home' campaign which includes a series of short videos featuring musicians performing from the comfort of their homes.

The initiative was mooted after the annoucement of the Movement Control Order (MCO) in March.

A new experience

"Of course, there were many technical processes involved but it was an emotional and enjoyable journey for us (the musicians and the management) throughout this project, with an enormous sense of pride,"

"We hope our music will inspire and motivate anyone who watches it," said MPO.

The video has gotten hundreds of positive comments and more than 1,500 shares with health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also sharing it on his social media page.
