With Malaysia’s constantly hot and humid climate, fighting body odour and perspiration can be pretty challenging, especially if you’re someone like me who sweats nonstop.
Although deodorant can help regulate sweat released from underarms, a majority of the deodorants available on the market have chemical-laden antiperspirants that use ingredients like aluminium, talc, and parabens which have the potential to lead to issues like clogged pores, skin irritation, and even hormonal imbalances.
Singaporean wellness and beauty brand Omno is hoping to solve this predicament with its line of eco-friendly and natural deodorants that combine luxury with sustainability.
We were recently given a chance to try Omno’s new deodorant line to see if it could help eliminate body odours and reduce sweat. Here’s what we found.
Omno’s new deodorant line
As part of the new line, Omno has three options to serve different preferences and needs.
The three options include Pureform, its unscented deodorant, which is great for those with sensitive skin; the earthy Moonatic, which has the essence of a moonlit forest thanks to its blend of petitgrain, cypress oil, and sage; and the invigorating Revival, which consist a harmonious blend of zesty citrus and floral elegance infused with orange, jasmine, and cedarwood.

Each option comes in two sizes. The 50ml option retails at RM59, whilst there is also a 120ml option. Meanwhile, Omno also has a perfectly pocket-sized 5ml version for those who are looking for something small to bring out and about or try out.
Omno’s deodorants work by neutralising the bacteria causing the odours and absorbing moisture via plant-based ingredients such as triethyl citrate and polyglyceryl-2 caprate. By inhibiting the “sweat binding site” on bacteria, the breakdown of sweat is prevented, ensuring long-lasting freshness without compromising the skin’s ecosystem.
Additionally, all of the deodorants use high-quality, natural ingredients certified by the COSMetic Organic and Natural Standard (COSMOS), an organisation that sets certification requirements for organic and natural ingredients in cosmetic products.
Our experience
As part of our review, we were given three different options, all in 50ml versions. As someone who sweats right after getting out of the shower, I was intrigued to see how Omno’s deodorants would fare in helping me with my BO and sweat.
Despite already owning a range of both spray and roll-on deodorants at home, I often opt for baby powder as I found that spray deodorants can smell too strong, while roll-on deodorants sometimes leave me feeling sticky.
Throughout the 3-week review period, I found myself drawn to the Pureform unscented option. It did not have any strong smells and instead reminded me of the fresh and clean feel of baby powder. To apply it, you’d simply need to spray one or two sprays onto your underarms, and you’ll be good to go!

To be honest, I wasn’t a huge fan of the two scented options, the Moonatic and Revival. Revival, which consists of orange, jasmine, and cedarwood, sounded good on paper. However, it was a little too over-intoxicating for my liking.
Meanwhile, Moonatic would be my pick of the two, with its essence of a moonlit forest offering a more musky and woody scent.
In terms of reducing sweat and body odour, I found that the deodorants do an excellent job of concealing body odour completely, even after a high-intensity workout or sporting activity.
But, on the sweat front, I didn’t see much difference as I would pretty much sweat the same amount with or without it on. However, I do realise that this might just be a me problem with my excessive sweating.
Overall, I would highly recommend it to people looking for something simple and light to help solve their body odour issues.
