A woman from China loved her pet dog so much that she forked out more than 100,000 yuan (RM66,000) to celebrate its birthday.

According to a report in South China Morning Post, the woman spent the large sum of money on 520 drones to form the message “Happy 10th birthday to Doudou” in the sky over the Xiangjiang River in Changsha.

The drones also formed a birthday cake pattern in the sky as the per owner and her friends sang the ‘Happy Birthday’ song for Doudou.

The report said the woman chose the number 520 because in mandarin, its pronunciation sounds similar to, “I love you,”.

Despite putting so much effort to celebrate her beloved pet’s birthday, she got into trouble with the authorities as the drones violated the no-fly zones near high-rises.

The authorities had to shoot down the drones due to that.
