10 Areas In Klang Have Been Issued With Flood Warnings, Be Prepared!
If you guys have noticed, the Malaysian weather has been somewhat unpredictable lately.
It could be scorching hot and almost unbearable and if it’s pouring, it comes in a stormy or floody package.
Perhaps it may be due to the monsoon season approaching soon.
Malaysia right now. Well, a few flash floods have taken place lately and it seems that it may not be stopping anytime soon.
If you are currently residing or working in Klang, you might need to take note as 10 areas in the district have been identified as areas at risk of flooding.
This is due to the high-tide phenomenon which is expected to take place from 9-12 October, with waters predicted to reach a peak height of 5.6m on 11 October.
Flood, flood, go away. The affected areas are Pengkalan Tok Muda in Kapar, Sementa, Kampung Perapat, Sungai Keramat, Jalan Pandamaran, Taman Selat Damai, North Port, Port Klang, Pulau Ketam, and Teluk Gong.
Klang district officer Mohd Zainal Mohd Nor told The Star: "Residents from the high-risk areas are advised to be on alert and take necessary precautions.”
“They should quickly usher their families to the nearby evacuation centres in the event of a flood," he added.
But what if the evacuation centre is also flooded? Eight evacuation centres have been identified in the event that flood victims would have to be evacuated and seek temporary shelter.
The centres are at Kampung Tok Muda multipurpose hall, Sekolah Rendah Agama Sementa, Sekolah Rendah Agama Batu 4 Kapar, multipurpose hall at Jalan Palembang Rantau Panjang, Dewan Dato Ahmad Razali at Batu 4 Kapar, multipurpose hall Bandar Sultan Sulaiman in North Port, Pandamaran Sports Complex and SJKC Lee Min Teluk Gong.
Stay safe and brace yourselves, guys!
