Lately, there has been a disturbing rise in crime cases occurring in schools across Malaysia. Just three days ago, a 15-year-old female student was reportedly raped by two senior students in a classroom in Melaka. The horrific act was also recorded and the footage has since circulated throughout the school.

Meanwhile, another violent incident was reported just this morning. This time, the victim is a 16-year-old female student who tragically lost her life after being stabbed by a 14-year-old male student.

According to The Star, the incident took place around 9:30 AM at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bandar Utama 4. It is understood that the suspect had brought a sharp weapon, believed to be a knife, to school.

The motive behind the attack has yet to be determined, but the victim was reportedly stabbed multiple times by the suspect in a female toilet at the school.

Petaling Jaya Police Chief Shamsudin Mamat stated that police have confiscated two sharp weapons and the suspect has been detained. So far, no element of bullying has been identified.

“A teacher heard a scream and tried to get help, but the incident had already occurred. Both the victim and the suspect were students of the same school, so there’s a possibility they knew each other, although they may not have been friends,” he said.

It is understood that the victim’s body has been sent to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for an autopsy. Meanwhile, the suspect is expected to be remanded at the Petaling Jaya Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
