This 19-Year-Old Malaysian Just Became The Fastest 'Jantan' In South East Asia
There's really no stopping Khairul Hafiz Jantan - like, literally!
The national sprinter officially became the fastest man in South-East Asia when he won the gold medal in the men’s 100m final in the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games on Tuesday.According to a report by The Star Online, the 19-year-old speedster sprinted to the finish line in a time of 10.38 seconds, ahead of Philippines' Eric Shauwn Cray and Kritsada Nasuwun from Thailand.
His impressive feat came after he clocked 10.34 seconds in the heats - the fastest time of the qualifying rounds.

With the win, Khairul became the youngest ever Malaysian to win the gold in the 100m race.
In fact, Khairul became only the fourth Malaysian to win the 100m gold at the SEA Games - after legend M. Jegathesan (1965), G. Rajalingam (1967) and Nazmizan Mohamed (2003).
And the scary part is: he's not old enough to vote in the General Elections!
He may be young, but Khairul has had quite an amazing career so far.Back in July, he broke M.Jegathesan's 49-year-old national 200m record by finishing the race with a time of 20.90 seconds - which was also his personal best.
Then, in July 2016, he broke Watson Nyambek's 18-year-old 100m national record when he crossed the finish line in 10.18 seconds at the Sukma Games.
