Most of us dread subjects that includes numbers, such as mathematics and physics, in school or uni. So, getting a decent grade is considered a great feat, let alone scoring an A.
But what if you’re so good at maths, you subconciously became the best maths student in the world?
This was the case with 19-year-old with Teh Yu Xuan.
Teh sat for his A-Levels exam in June. He passed his examination with flying colours - and he even scored 100/100 in mathematics!
Congrats, Maths wiz!
To add the cherry on top of the cake, Cambridge Assessment International Education conferred him the “Top in the World” award for the subject.
The award is given to students who scored the highest marks in the world for specific exam papers.
The KDU Penang University College student told The Star that he really loved maths but didn’t expect to score full marks for the paper.
“I had hoped for it as I have always loved Mathematics since primary school but did not think it would come true,” he told the English daily.
“It is really great news for me and my family, as my parents have been very supportive. I may pursue Pure Mathematics or Applied Mathematics in future, as I want to practise my passion to achieve my dreams.”
Teh was conferrred the award back in November.
Apart from mathematics, he scored A for his physics and chemistry papers as well.
Walaoweh, scoring an A is already hard enough let alone getting full marks and being the best in the world.
Well, congratulations to Yu Xuan for his outstanding achievement and putting Malaysia on the academic map. We wish him all the best for his future endeavours!
