New COVID-19 clusters seem to be surfacing every single day now.

The latest sudden increase in cases is at the Pelangi Damansara Flats at Persiaran Surian, Damansara.

According to a report by Sinar Harian, 23 positive COVID-19 cases were detected there on 21 October alone.

Mass screenings for residents

Trying to keep the outbreak contained.
Dr Abdullah Shafie, a representative from the Petaling District Health Office said that that authorities had conducted initial screenings for 760 residents at Block B there.

"We started screening since 6.30 am focussing on those who had symptoms," he said when speaking to Sinar Harian.

He added that once screenings were completed for Block B, residents at blocks C, D,E and F would be screened as well.




Yesterday (21 October), a total of 732 new COVID-19 positive cases were recorded in the country.

According to data released by the Ministry of Health, a total of 102 COVID-19 positive patients are currently being treated at Intensive Care Units (ICU) and an additional 6 people died from the virus yesterday.

In total, Malaysia has recorded 199 deaths related to the virus so far.
