More than 500 passengers were in distress this afternoon when two moving trains collided in Kuala Kubu near the Batang Kali commuter station. Panic erupted when the incident, which happened at 1.48pm, caused three passengers to sustain minor injuries and another to faint after the collision.

Photos from the scene revealed that the front windscreen of one of the trains was smashed and a few carriages were derailed. The 13-carriage KTM train was travelling from Butterworth to Kuala Lumpur while the ETS was on its way to Ipoh from Kuala Lumpur. Over 500 passengers were evacuated as seen in this video below:

It is reported that the KTM commuter service between Rawang and Tanjung Malim is cancelled while all ETS services will end at the Rawang train station. Passengers on board will continue their journey via bus or other alternatives.

KTMB is investigating the cause of the accident and any new development on the situation will be updated.
