Once a racer, always a racer.

This saying rings very true for a senior citizen in Australia who was busted by the police recently for speeding in his sports car.

Must. Go. Fast!

The man, who is 80 years old, got in trouble with the law after he was caught speeding by traffic police last week.

According to Drive, the man was allegedly detected driving his white, first-generation Subaru Impreza WRX at a break-neck speed of 182km/h.

Highway patrol officers reportedly caught the man on a country road near Alma, a small town which is located an hour away from Adelaide.

As the man was travelling at more than 80km/h over the posted speed limit, his antics earned him an AUD1,814 (RM5,513) fine.

To go with that, the police have also suspended his driving licence for six months.

Peek the magic number on the dashboard.
"Given the high number of serious and fatal crashes recently in the Barossa and Mid North Area, this type of driving is of significant concern.

"Highway patrols will continue to have a presence along main arterial roads and highways between rural townships with speed detection, vehicle roadworthiness, and drink and drug driving receiving particular attention," the police said in a statement.

Now the grandpa has a cool story to tell his grandkids when they grow up, don't you think?
