It's been a long wait, but it's finally here, boys and girls!

Very soon, you won't need to hold up your SmartTAG device when you're passing through a toll on the North-South highway.

Available at all toll plazas

PLUS has announced that the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) lanes will be fully operational starting this Saturday (15 January), Bernama reported.

According to a statement released by the highway operator, all toll plazas on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) route from the Juru toll plaza in Penang to the Skudai toll plaza in Johor will be implementing toll transactions using the RFID technology.

PLUS added that at least one RFID lane will be provided at all 83 toll plazas along its 657.5km-long highway.

“Currently, there are about 1.5 million highway users who have already used RFID Touch’ n Go to pay tolls on most other highways, especially in the Klang Valley,” they said in a statement.

The RFID lanes will begin operations from 10pm on Saturday, PLUS said.

If you have yet to get yourself a RFID sticker, you can get one for RM35 at all RFID installation centers nationwide, or through their official website.
