You know who are the real unsung heroes? The brave men from the Fire and Rescue Department.

No matter the time of the day, they would have to respond to distress calls and rush over to save the day.

Unfortunately for them, there are some days where their hard work would stand for nothing, like this recent case for example.

Mysterious hissing sounds

On Saturday (14 December), the Alor Setar Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call at around 6.03pm, The New Straits Times reported.

According to the caller, he heard some strange hissing sounds coming from the cupboard.

Fearing that it was a snake, the Department immediately dispatched a group of firemen to the caller's location, an area behind a school in Anak Bukit.

After a thorough check -- and probably bracing themselves the entire time to engage in a violent wrestling match with a 20-feet python -- the firemen found a common green bottle fly trapped in a cupboard!

Kedah Fire and Rescue Department director Sayani Saidon told the daily that the case was solved by 9pm.

Afterwards, he urged the public to be more careful when making emergency calls, as there might be more urgent cases that require their services like, you know, catching a real snake, for example.

What a day for the boys of the Alor Setar Fire and Rescue Department, huh?
