Another Banana Leaf Rice Restaurant Gets Shut Down For Being Unhygienic

One by one, they are going down.

Almost a week after popular banana leaf rice restaurant Raj's Banana Leaf was ordered to shut down, the authorities have shut down yet another restaurant.

This time, Raju's Restaurant got the whip for failing the cleaniness test.

Two other restaurants in the vicinity, Sri Paandi and Restoran Gasing, were also ordered to cease operations.

According to The Star Online, authorities reportedly found rat droppings as well as cockroaches during the raid on the eateries.

Also, the eateries reportedly failed to install grease traps in their kitchens, which resulted in oil and grime flowing directly into the drain.

That's not all: one of the restaurants allegedly used the backlane to cook and wash dishes, the news portal reported.

MBPJ councillor Sean Oon, who led the raid, told The Star Online that the restaurants will be shut down indefinitely, until the operators address all the violations.

We don't know about you, but we think we'll skip going to the mamak or banana leaf rice restaurants for the time being ?
