Another Film About Tun M's Life Is Reportedly In The Works
When you are as famous and as well-loved as our Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, you'll probably get endless movies inspired by your life.
We are all aware of the documentary film 'M for Malaysia', which successfully ran in the cinemas last month.
In fact, the movie even made it to the 2019 Busan Film Festival.
With so much hype and interest around the life of the oldest elected Prime Minister in the world, we can expect more movies to be made about our beloved PM, and one such movie is reportedly set to begin filming in December this year.
The New Straits Times reported that the movie will be based on the true events surrounding Tun M’s life.
The film's producer, Yusuf Kelana, told the news portal that the movie will be titled 'Mahathir: The Journey' and will cost RM6 million to make.
The movie will be directed by Dr Hatta Azad Khan and produced by Reliance Media group.
“It will chronicle Dr Mahathir’s journey after he first stepped down from his premiership in 2003 up till his reappointment to head the government last year.
“But most importantly, the script has received the nod from the Prime Minister’s Office,” he said.
The movie is planned for a July 2020 release in conjunction with the premier’s birthday, so who's excited?
