Authorities are puzzled with a sporadic case of COVID-19 which has emerged in Tanjung Kling, Melaka.

A sporadic case is basically one that appears out of nowhere.

The person has never been in contact with a COVID-19 patient nor has he or she left the state.

State Health and Anti-Drugs Exco member Rahmad Mariman told News Straits Times that the case is being investigated by the Melaka State Health Department (JKNM).

"JKNM is currently investigating the case closely, but as of now, the cause of the infection is still unknown," Rahmad told News Straits Times.

A mystery

Usually, new COVID-19 cases always stem from the person being exposed to someone who is positive, so this one is really a huge and concerning puzzle.

Regardless, Rahmad reminded the public to follow all SOPs set by the Health Ministry strictly.

All that can be done at this point is to be additionally careful and do your personal part in keeping yourself as safe as possible from getting infected by the virus.
