Now that certain outdoor activities are allowed again, we are pretty sure a lot of Malaysians are taking the opportunity to go out and take a breath of fresh air.

However, it seems that we may have taken the whole going out thing a wee too far.

Too many people

The Health Ministry, on Thursday (25 June), has sealed off Broga Hill, Malay Mail reported.

The news portal said that the popular hiking spot located in Semenyih has been made off limits to the public due to overcrowding.

The ban took effect on Saturday (27 June).

Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah was quoted as saying in a press briefing that the Ministry of Health has given the order to seal off the Broga Hill area under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342).

Go hike somewhere else.
“The breaching of standard operating procedures (SOP) at the Broga Hill is an example among several other reports of business and restaurants’ SOP compliance level declining.

“New SOPs and norms are often emphasised by the government and acts as the defence system of our country against the spread of the COVID-19.

“The Health Ministry urges the public not to neglect and take it easy with SOPs and new normal rules,” he was quoted as saying.

Sorry guys, it looks like you may have to take a hike somewhere else - preferably less crowded.
