BBC’s Documentary On Plastic Pollution To Be Screened On Malaysian TV...For Free!
Remember a couple of months ago when we made headlines for being the 'world's rubbish bin'?
It is still a pretty sensitive topic among Malaysians (because we're still angry), but in October, we can learn all about plastic pollution and how it is affecting the planet.
That’s because the BBC's highly-rated 'Blue Planet II' documentary will be shown for free on Malaysian television.
According to a report by The Star Online quoting the Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change Minister Yeo Bee Yin, the free screening was made possible with the help of British officials and the BBC.
"I hope the documentary will inspire us to do more for the environment and for us to step out of our comfort zones on what we can do for the environment," she said.
The minister also added that the documentary, narrated by David Attenborough, will first be screened in selected GSC cinemas before being screened on television.
Let’s hope that the documentary, which explores the effects of plastic pollution on the ocean, will help us make a more conscious decision on plastic usage.
