It’s time to bring out the big pails and gigantic water containers as the thing we Selangorians dread the most is coming back to haunt us once again.

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) has announced that 476 areas in the state will face water disruption from 9-12 October 2018.

Here we go again...
The disruption is due to equipment replacement works at the Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant (WTP).

Over 342,000 people will be affected as the shortage is slated to kick off at 9am each day for 12 hours straight.

Residents and business owners are urged to store water in advance and use it sparingly during the water shortage.

Don't take long showers, ok guys?
Syabas Head of Distribution Kelvin Siew told The Star that there will be “80 static tanks placed in critical areas like schools, mosques as well as apartments and flats.”

There will also be service centres operating for 24 hours to assist consumers on enquiries and relief water supply throughout the disruption period.

Among the districts that will experience water shortage are Petaling, Hulu Langat, Sepang, and Kuala Langat.
