Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad has resigned, The Malaysian Insight tweeted.

A short press statement has also been shared on the prime minister's official Twitter.

This comes as a shock amids political drama that has been happening since Sunday (23 February), which has gotten people questioning if this is the end of the Pakatan Harapan government.

Now, it is up to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, to accept or reject the resignation.
