Britain is set to ban petrol and diesel vehicle sales from 2030.

According to a report in AFP, this is part of a 10-point plan for a "green industrial revolution" by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The plan has an estimated cost of $15.9 billion.

It also among others, aims to invest in zero-emission public transport as well as zero-emission planes and ships.

"My 10-point plan will create, support and protect hundreds of thousands of green jobs, whilst making strides towards net-zero by 2050.

"Our green industrial revolution will be powered by the wind turbines of Scotland and the North East, propelled by the electric vehicles made in the Midlands and advanced by the latest technologies developed in Wales."
The 2030 ban on petrol and diesel cars and vans follows what Downing Street called "extensive consultation with car manufacturers and sellers,” Johnson said in a statement as quoted in the report.

We're pretty sure the manufacturers are not too happy about this decision, but Britain is trying their best to go green.
