In an unprecedented move, Anwar Ibrahim announced that he has the majority to form a new government.

According to The Star, the opposition leader was scheduled to meet the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on Wednesday (23 September), but their meeting was postponed as the King was unwell.

The Port Dickson MP says he has a “strong, formidable majority” to topple Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s current government.

“With a clear and indisputable support and majority behind me, the government led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has fallen,” Anwar said.

“I will meet with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong when he regains his health and will provide more information to the public about what happens next.”
