Are you a Streamyx user? If yes, then we have some good news for you.

Telekom Malaysia (TM) has announced that it will be reducing the price of their 8Mbps Streamyx plan from RM160 a month to RM69 for its existing customers, The Star Online reported.

Yep, that's right: you can save up to RM100 every month starting from September onwards! New users can subscribe to the same plan for only RM89.

They've heard your plight.
On top of that, the company is currently looking at providing fibre, wireless and GigaWire services to upgrade the speed of Streamyx customers who are still on copper network. The migrating phase will reportedly last until 2021, they revealed.

According to the news report, the company said it expects 70 per cent of its Streamyx customers to enjoy Unifi fibre broadband services by end-2020.

"We are committed to resolve the Streamyx issues and believe that the plan is the way forward to address not only the limitation of the copper broadband network, but also to lay the foundation for a better Internet experience for all existing and future customers nationwide," TM Group chairman Tuan Haji Rosli was quoted as saying.

The plan came about after some Twitter users reached out to the Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo to resolve their woes of using expensive Streamyx plans that provides low speeds.

Acting on the complaints, Gobind, on 19 June, gave TM one month to propose a better plan to address the issue.

Good job, guys, for exercising your rights!
