Malaysians had their eyes peeled on social media as today (28 July) marks the day former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak will be given the verdict to his on-going court cases revolving around the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal.

Najib’s allies, party comrades, and supporters were seen flooding the entrance and vicinity of the Kuala Lumpur High Court early Tuesday morning to show their undying support.

Many anticipated the presence of his supporters at the court, but were shocked to see them cramped up against each other, forming a sea of humans, ignoring social distancing and some weren't even wearing a mask amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lack of social distancing

Bosskur, kenapa pakai mask macam tu?
Some netizens are even calling the scene as “Cluster Jibby, or “Cluster Najib”, and are fearing for the worse (read: MCO 2.0).

According to The Star, the police have warned supporters and anyone in and around the Duta court complex to maintain social distancing.

"We are aware of concerns over the lack of social distancing, given the number of supporters here today (July 28) for the high-profile court case.”

"Our officers have been instructed to remind the people here to comply with the SOP, especially on social distancing," Sentul OCPD Asst Comm S. Shanmugamoorthy said.

Malaysians, no matter where you are or what you are doing in public, always remember to wear a mask correctly and also maintain social distancing.
