With the current conditional movement control order (CMCO) set to end on Wednesday (9 December), certain restrictions are also coming to an end depending on where you are.

If you've been longing to go out and have a nice meal with your family, well, now you can - terms and condition apply, of course.

Can, but also cannot

Some rules still apply, OK?
On Monday (7 December), the government has removed the cap on the number of people allowed to share the same table in restaurants with immediate effect.

Prior to this, the maximum number of people who can share a table is limited to just four.

According to Malay Mail, the removal of the restriction is one of the few new standard operating procedures listed by the National Security Council (NSC) on its official Facebook page.

However, that doesn't mean that you can bring your whole kampung out for a meal though, because physical distancing rules still apply.

“Restaurants and eateries are allowed to operate through dine-in (with a physical distancing of one metre between customers, according to the size of the table), takeaway, delivery or drive-through with compliance under the food and beverage sector SOP,” NSC said in the Facebook post.

On top of the seating capacity per table, the NSC has also allowed food and beverage premises to operate between 6am until 2am, subjected to their licensing terms.

While this may seem like a good time to hang out with your friends at the mamak, do remember to stay safe, OK? Wear a face mask and always remember to sanitise your hands.
