The Star Online reported that Malaysia and Singapore are reopening their borders beginning 10 August.
This was been revealed in a joint press statement by Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein and Singapore’s minister of foreign affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan on Tuesday (14 July).
The statement said both governments have agreed to implement the Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) and Periodic Commuting Arrangement (PCA).
“These two schemes are meant to address the needs of different groups of cross-border travellers between both countries, ” they said in a statement.
However, if you're planning to pack your bags for a holiday in Singapore, well, you're not in luck.

They said that the RGL would enable citizens from both countries to travel cross-border for essential business and official purposes only, while the PCA would allow Malaysia and Singapore residents with long-term immigration passes to enter both the countries for work.
However, keep in mind that all public health measures in regard to COVID-19 will be in place for eligible travellers.
Both countries have also agreed to publish the requirements, health protocols, and application process involved for entry and exit into Malaysia and Singapore 10 days prior to their implementation of the RGL and PCA.
If you have friends or families who are stranded, it's time to welcome them home.
