Back in 2010, a nothing-out-of-the-ordinanry eight-legged creature named Paul the Octopus created a buzz worldwide after it successfully predicted seven World Cup matches and even the winner of the entire tournament: Spain.
The octopus was seen as a legendary psychic and everyone was looking forward to having him back for the next World Cups to come.
But before he could extend his psychic services, he sadly died just three months after the Spaniards defeated the Dutch to claim the World Cup.

This month, the World Cup will kick off once again and another animal is on a mission to predict this year’s results.
Meet Achilles, a kitty cat who lives in Russia’s St Petersburg's Hermitage museum.

The white feline is brushing up on his cat-senses to make his predictions prior to the World Cup and is also currently being trained by a cat psychic.
Yes, even we didn’t know that cat psychics were actually a thing before this.
Achilles will have the same MO as Paul in predicting the winners: he will be given two bowls containing the same exact food bearing two different flags to choose from.
Whichever bowl he chooses to eat from first will be predicted as the winner.

He’s also deaf, so he won’t be easily distracted or influenced by onlookers and journalists when he makes his predictions.
According to Reuters, the furry Russian cat is currently in the midst of training. He dons a red football jersey and looks at a chart of the teams and game schedules, before, slightly reluctantly, moving onto an exercise wheel.

Can’t imagine how cute that must’ve looked like!
Well, we can’t wait to see this adorable fur ball works his psychic ability at the 2018 FIFA World Cup that’ll take place in Russia soon.
