Datuk Lee Chong Wei Brings the Tally to Four Silver Medals
So close. In a match that would surely be reflected in the amount of MCs taken on Monday morning, Malaysia's highest hopes for a gold medal at the Olympics, Datuk Lee Chong Wei, has lost to China's Chen Long at the Rio Olympics.
Words cannot capture the crushing disappointment Datuk Lee must feel and as a nation we're feeling it too. The game ended 18-21, 18-21.
This is 27-year-old Chen Long's first ever Olympic gold medal and the nation of China has grabbed the gold for three straight games, in 2008, 2012, and now 2016.
The total tally of medal for Malaysia now stands at 1 Bronze and 4 Silvers. We salute the Malaysian team who gave their all and this is the best haul we've received as a nation at the games.
Till the 2020 Olympic games.
