As Malaysia is now in the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) phase, visitors have started thronging the beaches once again.
And unfortunately, they brought their littering habits along.
Back to normal
Several photos showing trash strewn all over the beaches of Port Dickson have made its way online.
The pictures were even shared by Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun on his Facebook page on Sunday (28 June).
Aminuddin thanked visitors for choosing the popular beach as their holiday destination, but he expressed disappointment with the behaviour of certain tourists.
“I received a report this afternoon informing me that a bunch of visitors who took the clean environment for granted by throwing their garbage everywhere,” Aminuddin wrote.
He also reminded visitors to hold on to their rubbish until they find a bin to dispose it, instead of just dumping them on the ground.
Aminuddin urged visitors to appreciate the efforts of the Port Dickson Municipal Council (MPPD) who have worked hard to ensure the beach areas are clean and comfortable for tourists.
“If we all practice being responsible, I’m confident our holiday spots will always be clean and cheerful,” he said.
Guys, come on, we are better than this, right?
