Dr Mahathir And Dr Siti Hasmah’s Love Story Is Set To Turn Into A Movie

Y’all know how sweet the relationship is between our prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali.

We're sure you must have seen countless photos and videos of them holding hands and being cheeky with each other even at this age, after being married for more than 60 years.

Their romance has gained the diehard following of many Malaysians, both young and old.

Now, fans of these two nonagenarian lovebirds will be thrilled to know that their love story will be made into a movie!

Yes, it has been announced that a biopic of Tun M and his sweetheart's relationship will be filmed in a biopic titled, ‘Hasmah-Bila Deh Bertemu Det’ ('When Hasmah Meets Det').

According to a report in Bernama, the biopic will star Farah Nadia Zainal Abidin, better known as Nad, as Dr Siti Hasmah, while actor Hasnul Rahmat will play the role of Dr Mahathir.

Quoting managing director Hafiz Rozlan, the report said that filming will begin in March next year for a period of 65 days.

The film will, of course, tell the story of Dr Siti Hasmah, as well as the grief, obstacles and bittersweet journey she has endured as the prime minister's wife.

“The writing of the script is now in progress and is expected to be ready by the end of this month. We will double check with Dr Siti Hasmah herself to ensure its authenticity.

“Apart from making Dr Siti Hasmah’s biography as the main reference, we will also ask her to share with us incidents with Dr Mahathir which are not in the book,” he said.

The biopic will be filmed in several locations in Malaysia and overseas, and is expected to release by the end of 2020.
