Celebrating the end of the exams. Also, there are some who throw their books away.

That was exactly how a student decided to celebrate the end of SPM.

He threw away his books into a river recently.

Unfortunately, a video of the act was shared on the Info Roadblock JPJ/Polis Facebook page.

The video blew up on social media with many netizens condemning him for polluting the river.

Ministry of Environment looking for the boy

Joining the bandwagon was the Environment and Water Ministry, which declared that it was looking for the student.

Luckily for him, the ministry was not trying to punish him but to educated him about his actions.

“If there’s anyone who knows this teenager, Kasa (the Malay abbreviation for the ministry) would like to invite him to be a member of our Friends of River Malaysia so that we can work together in cleaning the rivers around the country in conjunction with the International Water Day this March 22.

“Maybe through the support and education by the community, not only this kid but a lot more people would be more aware of our rivers cleanliness state,” the ministry said in a Facebook post as reported by Malay Mail.

The ministry’s approach has been applauded by netizens.

Way to go, Kasa!
