Over the weekend, news broke that the eCurve shopping center located in Mutiara Damansara will be closing down for good on 31 March.

It turns out that it was a big misunderstanding all along.

'Urban rejuvenation' plans

The shopping center revealed that they will be closing down this month, but it's just temporary.

According to Free Malaysia Today, eCurve will be temporarily closed for a redevelopment exercise.

eCurve's management revealed via a statement quoted by the news portal that the redevelopment is part of the company’s “urban rejuvenation” plans.

However, the rejuvenation plans does not involve the more popular The Curve shopping center, only eCurve.

“We have taken the necessary steps to engage with our tenants at eCurve through both verbal and written communications to ensure this transition is a smooth one for all parties involved,” the mall said in a statement on Sunday (28 February).

Just temporarily, guys!
Earlier on Sunday, several news portals reported that the shopping center will be closed down for good effective 31 March.

The mall's tenants were reportedly served a notice regarding the mall’s closure in the middle of March.

Well, we're glad that the tenants do not need to move out of the mall for now, and hopefully, after the 'urban rejuvenation' exercise, the mall will be able to attract more shoppers.
