Family From Terengganu Wins Proton X50 as Grand Prize of Mirinda’s ‘Riang Raya & Menang Bersama-Sama The Experts’ Contest

The main winner of the 'Mirinda Riang Raya & Menang Bersama-Sama The Experts' campaign was revealed to be Mohd Zaki Hassan, who had expressed his gratitude when he received the gift of a Proton X50.
Upon finding out that he was the winner of the grand prize, Zaki explained that he and his family had driven down to KL from Dungun, Terengganu, to collect his prize.
Expressing his gratitude to Miranda and Edaran Otomobil Nasional Berhad (EON), Zaki said that he considered the car as his birthday present, which was in May.
"I couldn't believe it when I got a WhatsApp message from Mirinda informing me that I was one of the finalists vying for the grand prize,” Zaki recalled, his excitement still evident. However, this excitement was nearly cut short when Zaki thought he had misplaced the original receipt, which was the crucial deal-breaker in this contest.
He continued, “When they asked for my proof of purchase to be eligible for the win, I panicked, searching everywhere for my receipt. Luckily, the receipts were found and submitted as instructed. After 2 weeks, the news came in that I had finally won the Proton X50!"
Upon learning of his win, Zaki packed up his family and travelled from Dungun to Kuala Lumpur just to collect his prize. The excitement was palpable as Zaki expressed his heartfelt thanks to Mirinda, Etika Malaysia, and Edaran Otomobil Nasional Berhad (EON) for making his dream come true. "Alhamdulillah, and thank you Mirinda, Etika and EON for this humbling experience," he said after picking up his new car at Proton EON Glenmarie 3S, Shah Alam, on Monday.
Reflecting on his good fortune, Zaki shared, "This is the biggest prize I have ever received." Winning the Proton X50 comes as a double celebration for Zaki, as he was informed of his win in May, his birthday month, making the Proton X50 the perfect birthday present.
Zaki was accompanied by his wife, Nurul Ashikin Husni, 35, and their two children, making the occasion a joyous family celebration.

Collaboration with Astro Shaw

The 'Mirinda Riang Raya & Menang Bersama-Sama The Experts' campaign was part of the brand's Hari Raya efforts, in collaboration with renowned Malaysian film studio Astro Shaw and its movie, ‘The Experts’.
In addition to the contest element, the campaign featured a Raya-inspired short film collaboration with Astro Shaw. The film starred Dato Aaron Aziz, Syafiq Kyle, Mimi Lana, Remy Ishak, and Ray Dapdap as five siblings who join forces with Mirinda to embody the values of teamwork, family unity, and celebration in 'Mirinda Selamatkan Raya,' embarking on a special ops heist-within-a-heist mission to save Hari Raya. Through this short film, Mirinda aimed to inspire Malaysians to cherish their loved ones and bridge any differences during the festive season.

The campaign, which ran from March 9th to April 30th, 2024 offered consumers an enticing opportunity to win big prizes, including a Proton X50, courtesy of their partnership with Edaran Otomobil Nasional Berhad (EON), and five brand new Samsung CU8500 50-inch Crystal UHD 4K HDR Smart TVs (2023) worth RM2999 each! During this period, consumers simply needed to make a RM20 purchase of Mirinda and participating brands and submit their entry by scanning the QR code provided and uploading an image of their proof of purchase receipt.
