Finally! New 'Visit Malaysia Year 2020' Logo Set To Be Unveiled Soon
In January last year, the Tourism Ministry unveiled the 'Visit Malaysia 2020' logo at the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2018, and if you still remember, the logo was torn apart mercilessly by Netizens.
We can't really blame our fellow Netizens though, because the logo featured two smiling orang utans and a turtle...wearing sunglasses!
Here's a refresher, just in case you forgot how horrendous the logo was:

The logo left a very bad taste in Malaysians' mouths, and when the new government came into power, they promised that they would dump the old logo and design a new one.
And the new one has cometh, boys and girls.

Deputy Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik told The Star Online that the government is set to unveil the new 'VM 2020' logo during the national Hari Raya open house at the Royal Museum on 22 June.
According to Muhammad Bakhtiar, the new logo was approved and chosen by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad himself.
“The Prime Minister himself chose the logo on the eve of Hari Raya," he was quoted as saying.

Muhammad Bakhtiar told the news portal that the new logo was one of a total of 586 entries that were submitted by talented Malaysians.
He, however, did not reveal much about the new design, except that the theme of the logo will be revealed to all at the national Hari Raya open house later this month.
As long as the new logo doesn't feature any animals wearing any sort of accessories, we're good.
