Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz has revealed that Budget 2021 will be framed across four broad themes.

The themes in question are as follows: caring for the people, steering the economy, sustainable living, and enhancing public service delivery.

Tengku Zafrul said that first on caring for the people, the first goals of the PRIHATIN economic stimulus package and the PENJANA economic recovery plan are to protect the rakyat and empower the rakyat respectively.

“Moreover, Malaysians have shown the will to build a better society and have demonstrated it admirably during the nation’s toughest months,” the Finance Minister said during his speech at Invest Malaysia 2020.

“From gathering donations for front liners to providing food for vulnerable segments of society, the Malaysian spirit of unity in diversity shine bright.”

Budget 2021 is slated to be tabled on 6 November 2020, following a revision to Parliamentary schedules that caused its unveiling to be pushed back by one month.

The Minister of Finance had previously mentioned that the 2021 Budget will take into account current economic factors, given the COVID-19 situation.
