Flying South: AirAsia Now Flies Directly From Penang To Melaka

It's time to say goodbye to those long roadtrips, Penangites.

Malaysia's low cost airline AirAsia recently announced that they are now providing direct domestic flights from Penang to Melaka.

The low-cost airline celebrated an occassion on Monday (1 July) with its inaugural flight from from the Penang International Airport at 1.20pm and it arrived at the Melaka International Airport at 2.25pm.

Currently, the airline offers one return flight daily between the two food havens.

SoyaCincau reported that Melaka is AirAsia’s sixth domestic destination and fourteenth route from its Penang hub.

It currently flies from Penang to Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Singapore, Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok and Phuket.

So, if you're planning for a foodie road trip to Penang or Melaka, you can now skip the long drive and the long jam and just fly there.
