We all know that fugitive financier Low Taek Jho, or better known as Jho Low, has been on the run for quite a while now.

While our authorities have been searching high and low for Low (no pun intended), they have revealed that authorities in other countries where he may be hiding are refusing to cooperate with them.

The New Straits Times, quoting Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador, reported that the authorities in other countries have been giving ridiculous excuses in the search for Low.

Animal instincts?

Is Jho Low a bear now?
According to Abdul Hamid, among the excuses given by the foreign authorities include Jho Low undergoing facial surgery to look like a bear.

"They say his face looks like a bear. I don't know, but apparently he has now changed his looks," he said.

Not just that, Abdul Hamid also revealed that there were times when the authorities said Low looks like a wild ox when he walks.

"Sometimes when he walks, he looks like a ‘tambadau’. So when we look at him from behind, that is how he looks like. Do you think this excuse is logical?" he asked.

One of Jho Low's many passports.
Abdul Hamid's comments came after media reports emerged that Low is now moving around under a Cypriot passport, as he had been a Cyprus citizen for the past four years.

Bernama reported that Abdul Hamid said countries must cooperate on such matters instead of shielding criminals.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had reportedly said that the police will bring Low back to Malaysia, even if he changed his appearance to look like a bear.
